Touring Scotland in Sept. 2010

43yo M would like to arrive 'amongst friends'. Would love to chat with anyone in Edinburgh, St. Andrews, Inverness, Kyleakin, Oban.
In addition to making friends to visit again someday (or host here in the US), it'd be nice to get some idea of what there is to see and do during free time on the tour.
