Looking for a commoner highlander penpal in or around ft. william. m/f doesn't matter, but prefer someone higher in the age bracket. I'm planning to move to lanark scotland near where wallace grewup, trying to find info on the lay of the land, jobs, homes for sale etc. I figure the people of scotland would know whats really going on. America is getting too wierd for me, and my family were here since the pilgrams landed in 1620.

I'm afraid I'm not a highlander, I'm from Edinburgh - but if you have questions about a move to Scotland, have a look in the 'moving' forum, further down on the opening page.
As you have no close links to Scotland, I hope you have deep pockets - it is very hard to get a visa to settle here unless you fulfil very specific criteria... if you do not have skills which we require (eg medicine, teaching) or enough money to keep yourself or intend to become a student, then the chances of you being granted a visa are slim to non-existent. But go and have a look on the other forum, lots of people have asked about immigration and you may find lots of information that may be useful. If you then have any specific questions, I'm sure that those of us who are Scots (not many on here, by the way) will try to help you. |

"commoner" ? What, do you think we're all f**king peasants here and you're going to swan back and lord it over us?
I think you picked the wrong country, sunshine... Wallace knew how to deal with folk like you. ![]() |
