fellow american Scotland lover

Hi, I also love gabaldon books, and many other historical ones that concern Scotland. I am hoping to travel there, part of a dream of many years, this later summer or fall. I also told my husband if you don't come with me I'm going myself. lol I am so drawn to Scotland there is an emptiness in my soul until I go there and experience it for myself, so I totally understand. You will get there no doubt and enjoy it immensely.

Emptiness in your soul ....? For a place you've never seen?

I totally understand! I know it sounds weird since I haven't been there yet either, but everytime I see a photo or movie of Scotland or hear the bagpipes, I feel an emptiness in my heart, also! My family came to America in the early 1700's, but it must be something that's passed in our blood. It's the same feeling when I go to the mountains. It just feels like home. The sad part is that I don't live anywhere near the mountains, so I have to travel a couple days to get to them. I just know that when I get to Scotland, I'm never going to want to come home. So, I better make plans for traveling back again.... many times!
