Recider-I'm from Texas, recider, in case you haven't read my post in the new members board. The town I live in has very German roots that go back to 1864. Its sister city, I believe is Velbert.I can certainly see some similarities between life in this town and life in Germany.
"Here it is terrible right now, cause I see everyday a dead hedgehog on the streets or another animal. I was lucky enough that I didn't hit a animal since long and I'm glad that I have never hit a deer, cause there would be alot of errands to do afterwards and I hope it stay this way the following."
I wonder what errands there would be to do, other than perhaps some work on fixing the car. In some areas and states, I know that you have to pay a fine for hitting an animal, but not around here. This is a fairly rural area, so to charge a fine for hitting a deer or any other animals would quite literally be highway robbery.
Also, in this town we have an Oktoberfest(that's how it's spelled), but it's more for tourists, unless some club you're a member of has a booth selling food or stuff to raise money. So, it's really a giant fundraiser for the town that people come from far and wide to visit. And, of course there's the getting drunk. Not that the town itself isn't worth visiting at any other time of year. Goodness gracious, no. There's always some kind of festival here or there around the area.
As for the heat, I know all too well what you're talking about, though I do have air conditioning. I don't go outside much, with the humidity being about 80% or more. When we do get rain, it doesn't usually cool us down, but makes things more humid instead. Only when we get a nice, long, drenching rain does it ever really feel good. This is naturally rare, of course.
British(Sadie)-Where in the U.S. are you from? I'm hailing from Texas, at the moment.
NotAngel-For my trip to London/Scotland this coming March, where do you recommend I go for genealogical research? I mean, are there any major archives I'd want to head to first? If so, where are they? Also, I reckon it'll be rather colder there in March than it would be here, but just how cold is rather colder?

Hey NotAA,

I was quite often in the States until now, but I wouldn't do a road trip now, cause I like my trips well organized, but it could be worth a try. If my company goes really down I will make alittle longer vacation in the states and America, but fortunelly my company is still there and I had real a hard time last year, cause I took a month vacation and I was that glad to have to do something again and I wouldn't miss it.
Today I was happy as I opened my mailbox, cause there was a mail from a bookshop where I have ordered a special book, but hell I did something wrong with my cardnumber and if I don't update it soon the book will be not send. I'm still alittle anxious about the whole thing, cause it's my first order from outside Germany and over the internet. Do you order much online?

Hello Wandering,

My father had always very much errands to do when he hit a deer, first he had to get out the local hunter, get him and discuss the accident and the following days the car had been repaired at a garage and it is not good, cause my father has along drive everyday and everyone needs his own car. All the costs are covered from the insurance, but not the lost time and we have always something to do. But I had to laugh today, cause a colleage from mine looked for a specific address in a town far from us and at first she didn't find the address and after the appointment she didn't find her car anymore. (hehee)
My cat made me proud this morning, cause she catched a mouse again, but unfortunely I couldn't let her near me, cause she was wet, like she had a bath before.
Here in Germany it's similar, cause in the summer every group or company has it's party going on. My company hadn't a party since long, but before I was only on one and it was so funny to see the high ranking colleagues sing and dance on the tables. I'm alittle sad about it.

Could you explain what you mean by "genealogical research?" sorry i just dunno what that means exactly, if your meanin museums and stuff well London has all that and we do aswell, and we have loads of Castles and memorial places you would enjoy visiting, Visit stirling if you wanna see monuments of william wallace and robert the bruce, tell me what you meant incase i got it wrong , ok cya

Talking hi guys!

Recider-
see, buying the fan was a good idea even if u havent had to use it yet. When all the people you worl with are hot and uncomfertable, you will be nice and cool because of your fan. I go to the dentist oten enough but probably not as much as i should. i always seem to have cavityies too. its sucks.
my dad hit a deer last month on a trip and it dented our car. it was scary and very sad. im sorry you see dead hedghog by the road.

NotAnAngel-
