American to invade Scotland in January

I have decided to take a semester off from school and work in Scotland to maybe find out a little about my culture. About 200 years ago my family came from Scotland and I thought it would be neat to come and live there from January to June. I really need to meet some Scottish people. Have you looked into working there, Mikey? I think the laws are pretty restrictive about working there if you are not a citizen. I think i remember reading that if you are attending University there, you may work up to 20 hours a week.
