Wink

OK.....this is the third time I have had to type this....computer glitches!!!

Is there anyone out there who believes that they may have lived a past life in Scotland??? My "connection" is so strong that I can often describe people, places, and events with some detail. I even may have lived during two different time periods - once in the late 13th century and again around the time of the Jacobite Rising in 1746. Certain celtic tunes and instruments can evoke a strong emotional reaction within me, especially bagpipes and ancient "tribal" drum sounds. I am planning an excursion to Scotland for 2005 to explore the "backroads and beyond" of the Highlands and the Western Isles. Does this sound familiar to any of you? I am an active, "young at heart" mature woman looking for some celtic soul mates to "reminisce" with. Are any of YOU out there? Please reply to goldenlass@scotland.com

Wink Thanks for the welcome

Thanks for the welcome. I have discussed the "stong connection" factor with others who do not believe in reincarnation. They feel that the celtic culture, with all its allure, touches their souls in a profound way. I can relate to this feeling, but since I am drawn to a particular area in Scotland and can sense time period as well, I believe I actually lived there before. I have never been to any of the British Isles. I have lived in the US all my life, with only two trips that took me out ot the country. Way back in high school, I went on a student trip to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. I also felt a connection to Switzerland, but not in a "past life" sense. My other trip was to Cancun, Mexico as an adult. I have been planning a trip to Scotland since 1996!!! Each year I say I'm going next year, but something always comes up to prevent it. Last year my eldest daughter had a baby the week of my trip!!! (Yes, I am a "young" grandmother.) So I had to cancel. Now I am being realistic, and aiming for 2005. I also feel I am not quite ready to make the journey. I have been doing research on the places and time periods I have mentioned and even have been taking Gaelic lessons (in Irish). That was the only kind that was being taught in my area. I am trying to make the transition to Scottish Gaelic on my own. Anyone out there speak it?? I could use some pointers. Well, that's it for now. I would love to hear from anyone with an opinion of the topic. THANKS!!

Lightbulb Past Lives

Hi Goldenlass.....EmmmmPast Lives....Well many years ago on my first trip 2 Amserdam....I came out of the Central Station....& just "knew" I had been there bfore!!!Everything seemed sooo familiar....but not in any learned info.from Books or listening 2 people talk about Amsterdam! The feeling was so strong, that 5 years later I went & lived there! I moved on 6 years later, as I fell in love, but have never forgotten that "feeling" of being so comfortable...so "at home"! Which part of Scotland do u have this "feeling about" ?any special area! As a Scot I would b interested 2 know! Good Luck! Cheers no Tears.

I feel drawn to Aberdeen in a way i can't describe but feels magical. Some very strange coincidences happened to take me there, and it turns out to be the place my mother's ancestors are from.

Wink Deja vu !!!

BatEl and HollyElise-
The two areas I am most drawn towards are in and around Inverness and also the Isle of Skye. Are either of you from these areas?? If not, where ARE you from??
Both of you seem to have had these deja vu feelings in a physical sense. Yet you cannot connect to these places from a logical point of view in this lifetime. HollyElise has a strong tie to her mother's ancestors. You may have actually been one of those ancestors in another time. You and your mother may have had a different relationship before and now have reconnected in this life as mother and daughter. If you believe in soul mates AND reincarnation, they say you connect with these soul mates many times in different lifes. BatEl - you had that sense of "place" in Amsterdam. And you even moved there- good for you. Did you have any other experiences while you were there? And did you meet your "love" there?? That might have been destiny, too!!
My experiences with "strange" feelings are of the psychic kind, I guess, since I have never been to Scotland. I will hear a tune, see a picture, or read something that triggers a strong emotional reaction. I might have tears well up in my eyes, a flutter in my stomach,or a "gut" feeling like someone punched me in the stomach. Very powerful sensations....that leave me with feelings of sadness or joy. I also feel that all the circimstances that have blocked my travel plans to Scotland thus far have happened for a reason. My journey over there will be a life-altering experience, emotionally and spiritually. There is a good chance that once I have connected in a physical sense, I may never leave!!! And since I still have obligations here, I am not yet ready for the change.
Since it looks like the three of us are all interested in discussing these feelings, maybe we should know more about each other?? I am a 46 year old woman with three grown children (24, 19, and 17) and one grandchild. I teach special education students in an elementary school and work part-time in a hospital pharmacy (my previous profession before teaching). I returned to college after my children were all in school and received my teaching degree in 1997 (late bloomer!!) I love what I do, as it is very rewarding to teach these students how to read and write. I am married (to my second husband) and live in a nice suburban neighborhood in the southern part of New Jersey. I'll stop there and let you guys catch up. Hope to hear from you both soon!! (Sorry I write so much - I'm intrigued by both of your experiences.)

Hi you caught my interest because I do believe in past lives. That is one reason why I'm so drawn to Scotland and Ireland.
