Trish,

don't worry I will still claim you. I'll let you as long as you let me every now and then.

Trish,

I would hazard to guess that every sibling thinks the the other is off their rocker. I believe that that is because we all have our own way of doing things. Some of it may be a bit strange to the next person but as long as the results are the same then does it really matter?

My day....I am finding out that as the days drag on around here that my soldiers are starting to get complacent and their initiative has become a dismal trickle. They are good soldiers but now I have finding myself having to check behind them and ask them why this or that hasn't been done yet. That is aggravating the crap out of me. My temper is getting shorter by the minute. I wouldn't mind if the reason that they are doing some of the things that they do was because that they didn't know any better. I know that is a lie because there are certain things that have to be done every day. It's the same today as it was yesterday. I don't have time for baby sitting. I need grown adults.

oh well, I shut up now

maybe they want attention from you so they decide to act up.
wow hard to believe that june is almost at an end already.
does it get some what cooler in the autumn months there or is it always hot?
your probably hoping that you won't stay long enough to find out. how long is the average tour of duty of such places last? i hear that there is still trouble over there. oh my goodness thunderstroms yeah! i love the sound of the thunder but lightening could do with out and of course it's raining again. i like the heat but hate the humidity.
hope they don't give you too much trouble and you all get to come home soon.

Trish,

I don't know what they want from me. I think that we need to have a little heart to heart and see what gets shaken out.

I wish that I could tell you just how long that we are going to be over here but there is no set time limit for these types of deployments. It could be as short as 6 months or as long as a year. You never know. It just depends on how long it takes every thing to settle down.

I really could use to rain to fall asleep. There is nothing like listening to that to make you feel all relaxed and drift off.

take care

rob

Hey you,

I really don't think that they are better off. They have alot more freedom than they had before but they just don't know how to act. We are dealing with people who have been surpress for years and now that they do not have anybody stepping on their necks the are rioting and looting and shooting each other. The police force is non existant and the civilian government is just starting to get up and running. The military presence is the only thing that is giving an illusion of safety. However, you still have to deal with dissidents who would prefer to see every single westerner dead. This isn't going to an easy job and it's going to take a few years. I feel that give the situation about 5 to 10 years and we will go from being saviors to pigs and the devil once again. This region has been the same for thousands of years. The people won't change because they don't want to change.
