To All,

If you will review my profile you will find out more about me. I want to say hello and so far, I really like this site. My primary purpose here is to generate friendships with quality people in Scotland and Ireland specifically. My great-grandfather immigrated to the U.S. from Aberdeen, Scotland in the early 1900s. As a result I was brought up with a passionate love for all things Scottish. I am married to an Irish-American. The reason I am putting this out on the `board is that I am writing what I hope will be the first of a three book series of fiction based on Celtic history and mythology. I have completed the bulk of my research and have 14 chapters done. The books are/will be centered in Ireland and Scotland.
I would like to begin email discussions with sincere people in these two countries (they must be native-born, not American, European, etc. transplants)who love and honor their heritage. Ideally at some point I would like to chat on the telephone and eventually meet when we travel to these countries in the fall of 2003.

My best to you all,

Patrick Leslie
Texas, USA

Hi Patrick!

I won't be of much help perhaps because I'm just an American, but I had to respond to your post - you be sure and let us know when the book comes out! Good luck with your search for information; it sounds like you have a good start on your writing already.

I know an American author (Lori Royal-Gordon, under the name Lauren Royal) who has written several romance novels set in Scotland and England... the titles are Amythest, Emerald and Amber, I believe. She says her trips to the UK have been for research but I've been there too now and I told her 'yeah, sure - you just want an excuse for going back to the most beautiful place on the planet!'

LOL!!
Good luck then,
Susan
