I live near Cleveland and i thought you would like to know that today Cleveland was voting to determine if same-sex marriages would be recognized under the law and gay and lesbian couples be entitled to the same rights as heterosexuals. If passed, this law would be the FIRST of it's kind in the United States, and...
it looks for certain now that it's passing! ![]() ![]() ![]() Congratulations. One small step forward for man and woman kind. |

Hey that's awesome!
But... correct me if I'm wrong... didn't California also have that law or something of that kind, short before The "Governator" changed it again as soon as he took his job? Here in Germany we have that sort of law too, only marriages can't be celebrated in churches, at least not officially, because it's against christian laws... ah well, who cares. Is it true though, that some States in the US still have laws in their old state constitutions, that prohibits being gay, even by the threat of being executed? That reminds me of "strange sex laws". Try to find that in Google, you'd be surprised what things are prohibited officially by law in some states or other nations ![]()

Hey,
I'm new here but i thought i would let Runrig-Fan know that california didn't have a law like the one in Cleveland, Ohio. Actually a few years ago we voted on a proposition that would make it where california wouldn't recognize same sex marriages acquired in other states. It passed with 60 to 40. Hopefully another proposition will come out to counteract it. One can only hope. Anyways, congrats to HollyElise, it's great that it passed. gina |
