22. Work in Security for one of the big oil companies. The last bit ain't surprising as I'm in Aberdeen. Jacking all that in to become part of the great unwashed masses at the end of summer i.e. studentdom here I come. Single. Into my books, poetry, astrology (not those damm horoscopes before anyone asks!), music and having a larf.

You'll usually find me lurking about the literature and the music forums, occasionally venturing forth into the big bad world of C*MON*INN.

No one has been here in a couple of months but I'm new so I'll start here. I live in NY, eastern long island near the water. My sweetie has recently been transferred to Scotland, Midlothian,-he is a Brit gamekeeper-so I'm learing what I can about a country I will be visiting quite frequently. My nephew also lives in Scotland, in Perthshire. I'll take my first trip early July. I'm a chef, love great food, walking/hiking, a good glass of wine, gardening and adventure. Any suggestions of places to eat in Glasgow and or any native foods that are a "must try" please pass them along.

Here's some foods ya gotta try, if you haven't already done so.

Haggis, neeps and tatties (hmmm)
Stovies
Chips (french fries is what you lot call em) from a Chip shop
Mars bar coated in batter (sometimes called scrunchies)
Deep fried pizza
Royal highland shortbread
Tennant's lager
Bell's (LOL) / famous grouse whiskey (often the instigator of one of my many hangovers)
