Question

we are coming to edinburgh in Aug. My husband's homeland is dundee(his father was born their) He is worried about, hoof and mouth and mad cow, he only eats beef? Also we have tickets for the military taatoo will it be cancelled? In the states everything is being portrayed as very bad.

Question travel

i too am going to scotland this summer. i am very curious about the disease scare. i'm taking students with me and i want all to be safe.

well, ladies, at the moment, the worst is in the Borders and England. North of the Forth & Clyde valleys is open, but requested to disinfect. Stock is moving further north where there are no problems.

Beef prices have gone up by a margin to reflect supply. Expect to pay more in a restaurant, althouth alternatives are being offered.

There is no talk of the festival or tattoo being cancelled in August.

Please keep coming to Scotland. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. There is plenty things to do, places to see places to eat (you could always be vegetarian, like me, and be surprised at how good it tastes !)

Scotland is NOT closed, no matter what the press say. Follow the guidelines and there will be no problem. Advice is updated on a regular basis as it becomes available.

Thank you for the information. I am very excited about going to scotland. My ancestors are McClungs and Roberts and came to the US in the late 1700's that's really all I know about them.
