Hi, my name is Jean. I am a Milne by marriage. Just here hoping to find information on Mine clan. We live in Alabama. In New Orleans, LA there is a town called Milneburg, and also a Milne Boy's home. It was named after a Scottish Philanthropist, Alexander Milne, who came to the United States in the 1700s. I am curious as to if he is kin or not.

Milne seems to be claimed as a sept of Clan Gordon. Try doing a search on Rampant Scotland Directory or Electric Scotland is all about the history of Scotland and the Scots.. Both sites seem to accept information as received, ie without verification - so check with more than one site to ensure you get accurate info!

As for your LA Milne, you would have to trace your family back, generation by generation in the USA to find out whether or not he was an ancestor of your specific family.
