Just joined this site with hopes of furthering my family research of my MacIntosh family prior to their emigration to Canada.

Hello.
Have a look in the Clan forum. I think a Macintosh (lots of different spellings, same clan) thread has recently been resurrected!

If you have details of your first ancestor to emigrate from Scotland, then perhaps, through various channels including passenger records, you'll be able to trace that one Macintosh family back to a specific area/parish in Scotland.

Thanks Polwarth, I did notice the thread on the Mackintosh clan, thank you. I've found all other my Scottish lineage that emigrated all but the MacIntosh, I will merrily carry on researching :-)
