Ha!
Re: Texans wearing cowboy hats...
Years ago when I was in college...just how many I won't own up to...a girl that lived on my floor came from New York. She was scared that she'd be stuck in the middle of the "sticks" with no kind of cultural life at all. (Didn't she come to visit the campus first???) Of course, when she got off the plane, the first person she saw was wearing a cowboy hat. She told me she very nearly turned around and got back on the plane. And no, I don't even live in Texas. Of course, now it's more ball caps than cowboy hats. I find the history of Scotland much more interesting to read and write about than the "They fall madly in love at first sight and have excruciatingly blissful sex in the heather five or six times a day" nonsense. Of course, some of my writing friends are romance writers, so I have to keep quiet sometimes. |
