I was not sure where to put this so i thought here was the best place.


I'm only half Scottish and i do not live there but i've said to people that I'm Scottish a few times because i was raised by my mum who is Scottish and my brothers and sisters are all Scottish, i have been to Scotland and I'm very interested in Scottish history and plan to move there in years to come i was wondering if you reckon i have the right to say I'm Scottish and wondering if you find it offensive if i say I'm Scottish?

Your mother is Scottish as are your siblings. You're a helluva lot more Scottish blood in you than those on this forum who have discovered William Wallace or Robert the Bruce in their ancestral line (incidentally, isn't odd that they're about the only two famous Scots who just about everybody is apparently descended from ?).

You're Scottish. It's a mere accident of birth that you weren't born here so don't get worked up about it.
