That is something I would like to do at some point; its just a shame the West Island Way is already taken as this would be an ideal name for this route!

I nearly forgot, there's also this.

Scotsites - aye, West Island Way would be a pretty good name. I don't think there's a single, recognised ("official") walk that goes the entire distance, but it would be excellent if a route could be formalised and publicised, from the various options. Even then, it would still rely on ferries at some stages (gives you a rest, though).
