Well Dut, I haven't heard the expression since "The 39 Steps" I doubt Crofter's had the battered old geography book out again. My immediate thought was of the railway actually.
Well, keep an eye on the shop, a bhallaich, Im off over "The Highland Line" again, shades of Bailie Nicol Jarvie, taking the rod, spate river, not optimistic!

Well cobber , if the fish ain't jumping for the fly , dig up some glow worms , thread 'em onto a strip of flax , and go bobbing for eels
