Hello from Pennsylvania!

Hello everyone! I live here in the Allegheny Mountains in central Pa. I would love to have some pen pals from Scotland, guys or gals, any age. I promise to answer all who write! My ancestors on my mother's side were from Scotland, their last name was Calhoun. Welsh on my father's side, his last name was Owen. Anything you can tell me would be much appreciated.

Welcome

Welcome to the forum. I am a Scottish-Welsh American born in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Grandparents came over in from Glasgow in 1906. The Welsh side got there in 1891. Have fun on the forum. Been to Scotland more than a few times and have Scottish friends that visit annually.

Hello Scotty! Sounds like you are also from Pennsylvania. You have the same type of ancestors I have. What part of Scotland did you visit?

Scotland Visits

Hi, Indianapa. I hit Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness. I rode by motorcycle all over the highlands, Mull, Skye, etc. I haven't made it to Orkney yet. Grandmother was born in Kilmarnock and grandfather in Dalry, Ayrshire County. Grandad was a Gordon highlander. My wife was born in Bellfonte, not far from Altoona.
