Greetings

Hi one and all,

Just another newbie. I live up north in sight of Orkney.
I'm into Family History, more others than mine (their skeletons seem more interesting ).
2 major surnames in my background are Craig and Orr - both from Ayrshire.
I have a great affinity with islands - Shetland being my favourite.

That'll do for now I think - I don't want to hear the yawns.

James.

Welcome, MM

I presume you live in the Scrabster/Thurso area. I was up there briefly last year and took the morning ferry over to Sromness - what a lovely sailing it was too !!

Scotsgait, thanks. Actually the view of Orkney differes but stretches as far as John O' Groats going East and into Sutherland going West. I'd actually be happier looking at Shetland - my personal preference, but I'll settle for Orkney. As we now have a new ferry at Gills, a Catamaran, its a serious alternative to NorthLink at Scrabster.

James.
