A Little about me

I live in the USA. Born in California, raised in Hawaii, and I am currently living in Kansas. I have had a very ecclectic upbringing to say the least. I am an office manager at a local company here. Nothing very exciting.

Not as exciting as you would think. Don't get me wrong, it is a wonderful place to visit. Living there however is not the same thing, I lived there for 13 years before I decided that the world was a much bigger place.

It is very expensive and most of the people live in poverty. Plus I am the minority there. My father is half Hawaiian, but I look more caucasian therefore I was picked on unmercifully. The haole (white; foreigner) girl.

So many different nationalities and cultures there, but being white or a tourist you are an outcast. Funny how they depend on tourism for thier livelyhood, yet they are very unwelcoming. I guess it is like that everywhere though, with tourism I mean.

Oh how I do miss the food, the beach, the sounds of the ocean outside my window though. My hanai (adoptive) mom and sister are coming for a visit next month and bringing food.... Yum!
