Smile Just married into MacNaughtons now of Appalacia

Hello I am Amy and I am trying to connect with some of my new husband's clan people. My new son is learning the bagpipes and I would love to support his efforts. We are McNauhgton and Porter then later Beckett who have setteled into Southest Ohio working Coal mines.

I believe the name originates from the Argyllshire area - but confess I know little about the origins.

Have you tried Rampant Scotland Directory ? It is a Scottish-based website which has lots of clan information. Another (not so good) is Electric Scotland is all about the history of Scotland and the Scots. which also has lots of clan information. I would caution you that both sites admit they accept articles/information as submitted - they do not check it for authenticity.

Good luck with your research.

Try the Clan McNauhgton website ,

Official Site of Clan Macnachtan Association Worldwide

There is no point going anywhere else unless directed by the clan itself.

Beware of cheap imitations .
