I'd sincerely like to help - if only I understood your questions.

1 - what job - transfer from what to where?
2 - if you are going to transfer your job, surely that would be where you'd settle?
3 - only if you copied natives.

Which particular accent do you like ? Oh, you didn't realise that there was more than one ?

What makes me think this is another WUM ?

Haha, Polwarth, I didn't have a clue either, but Abbreviations and acronyms dictionary: Find definitions for over 4,219,000 abbreviations, acronyms, and initialisms is very good with mysterious abbreviations, some traditional, some more slangy or internet-orientated. Best suggestion there is "wind-up merchant", which sounds like what he meant.

TerriH, hello and welcome and all that, but if you're serious, you're going to have to define your questions a wee bit less broadly.

If you are planning a big move, I can see that there's a lot to think about but your questions are almost meaningless. Best part of Scotland? I mean if you have decided to move, then you have probably decided *where* to move, no? Which country are you in just now? I suppose you have checked all your visa requirements and so on?

Honestly, we'll try to help if you can try to be a little bit more detailed about what you need to know.

(Tangent: why the heck do links that I post fail to show as links to me? I gather that they look normal to others but not for me. Very odd. Need coffee input.)

Indeed, it was.

Ah, good. Ta, Scotsgait. I *was* mystified, but I love Mr. Google!
