Greetings from North Yorkshire

Good morning all.

Thought I'd best jump in and introduce myself.
I'm living in North Yorkshire currently, and hoping to move into Scotland some time next year. I have a thread open on the Moving part of the board, so please leave me a comment there.

I'm 28, a member of the WI down here (so will be looking to join the SWRI if I get moved) and married to a keen gardener.

Can't really think what else to put here, so I'll stop waffling.

Welcome, Metherer.

I have to say that if you join the SWRI, you'll pull the average age down substantially,

I did that in my local WI. 30 ladies, 2 of them under 60, and then I arrive.

They were so excited to see someone younger I thought they might either have heart attacks or wet themselves. (Or both!)

Hi

Hi Babz - did you enjoy your time in Aberdeen?

Hi KathyV

This evening I've been working out places within an hour radius of Glasgow, as the company I work for has an office there, so I may be able to move my work until I find something better.

Also been looking at jobs elsewhere, to see what is currently available.

M.

Be aware that there's a HUGE variation in an hour's radius from Glasgow (it could even encompass Edinburgh, depending on your mode and time of travel). You could take in rural Argyll, ex-mining communities, new towns, old-towns, fairly sectarian areas, very liberal areas, etc etc

Ask us for advice about any place you are thinking off !!
