Judging by the boozing I've seen going on in Newcastle and in Durham in the past year ..... money appears to be no object to the young!

BTW, I meant to type 'cannY lad'!

Spiffing chaps!

Not Bolwer's its Flat Caps

Not crumpets its cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off

I don't English accents are too hard to place especially for the English

Well Newcastle is the London of the north-east, full of cockneys with business plans who eat foccacia bread and sun-blush toms, and like most people from Sunderland (population 280,000 compared to 180,000 in Newcastle i may add) i have to work in Newcastle - as the government gives free funding to business' that set up in Newcastle... Yes, i am bitter, and this has been going on since the Civil war, no joke bonny lass, Newcastle was/is known as the 'English garrison' for a reason.

As for Durham City, it is full of Yank students with plenty of money to spend from mam and dads suburbian cash fund.

Haha, not quite lass.

I'm cautiously friendly to the Scots, i really hate the negative stuff that can spew from the mouths of them up there about the 'English' (huge term that covers alot of different people, we all know) because it can hurt, afterall i am born and raised on this side of the line.

But what is undeniable is that this part of the world shares much more incommon with Lowlands Scots than the rest of Northern England, if you can even call it the north? more like midlands to me.. besides that the best crack is with the Scots I've met on holiday, besides that we share dialect in which other parts of England don't.

When i was on holiday three years back i shouted to a mate while he was downing a pint (eeeh the daft things bairns get up tee eh?) "Dee it for England son!", anyway because of that we got cracking with some Scottish lads who were all class and we have even kept in touch to this day, we dont talk like most English, yet we are English. It's confusing for Americans when i speak to them on the phone, i will say that, haha.

Unlike many Scots, I feel no great animosity to the English.... after all, if I said I disliked YOU, it would be because you have got up my nose, not all Sunderland fowk....! Broad brush 'hatreds' always amazes me!
