So now you are part Scottish due to the Bell name, Welsh, Cornish, English, quarter Swedish, Irish and Indian and you live in the US where you may also have been born making you also part American? Quite a mixed bag really!

The only way to 'prove' your Scottish ancestry is to trace back, via your own generation, your parents and so on, back to the original 'Bell' ancestor. That ancestor would give you the information which would 'prove' where YOUR Bells originated - whether that be Scotland, England, Ireland or Wales!

With all your other ancestral links, your quotient of 'Scots' blood may be very, very tiny indeed!

How can 'American' be a corporate name? Surely that's your nationality, no ifs, ands, buts or add-ons..

I'm confused now. Is this a claim of Scottish nationality or an anti-America soapbox? The USA might be a screwed up country, but what's to say you won't feel the same about anywhere you live? Scotland has its moments - both good and bad and there are times I could turn my back on this place AGAIN. Such is life unfortunately!
