Question Hi frm McOz

Hi Guy's,
Brand new member trying to work out how this all works(new to this kind of thing). Long lost Scot who was seven years old when taken to Aussieland. Now 51 yrs Old and still have a longing for the Bonnie land. Hope to visit soon, looking for a small unit/flat or house to buy in a rural setting coastal or inland not fussed for around 30,000 pounds. Not sure if this is sufficient or not?. Anyway looking forward to talking with anyone out there.
Regards,
Mc Oz.

Hello!

I don't know many places where you could find something for 30K - or at least not in the more popular areas!

Where were you thinking of looking? If you have a mo, look in the Moving and Travel fora on here, lots of good info in there.

Hiya McOz and welcome to the site, its good when transplanted-scots join us lololol

I think you might have to double or triple the amount you were thinking of to get anywhere decent !!

Prices seem to have gone through the roof over here !!

Where in Scotland were you from ??

Smile Hi Babz

Hi Babz, thanks for the reply. I'm from Falkirk a long time ago, have only visited twice both for illness to family so I have yet to do the tourist bit. I was really looking for a small place away from the mainstream but I realise even this might not be practicle?. If I can't buy I'll probably just do the big trip and spend a couple of months doing the rounds. Would like to find someehere to spend 2-3 months every year but we will see what happens. It's really great being able to talk and discuss and read about issues and events from your perspective so looking forward to continuing the journey.
Regards,
McOz.

Fàilte dhuibh!

Not sure about other places but the ones I know of are about the double in price (and even more) and tiny old rundown places...

Not that I would mind, I would invest some money and make a cuddly comfy suite out of those.
