Rock and pop of just about every kind is ultimately of American origin. That includes all music of this type.

It's called soft power, it's how our culture is engineered to become like theirs. And the irony is that it is presented as rebellious. Well, they may be being rebellious, but they are still becoming assimilated to American hegemony.

The whole joke is that hundreds of years ago we had real poets in this country who would have been able to blow this stuff out of the water. They used to hold "poetic battles" as well, and weren't frightened of rude words either.
