Crowdfunding for Scottish Musicians

A dynamic events organisation has taken a unique approach to promoting unrecognised and unsigned Scottish musical talent. IC Events is crowdfunding £500 on a brand new platform to support the launch of their Un-Wired Scotland music project.

Their platform for musicians will supply opportunities, promotions, tools to promote music, and occasional live events and album releases. The platform will also boast a fortnightly podcast dedicated only to exposing the best of Scotland’s unsigned music!

The main aims for Un-Wired Scotland are to promote as many musicians as possible, free of charge, and to eventually provide free recording services for any band or musicians in Scotland who is unsigned.

Conor Steel, the Un-Wired Scotland co-ordinator said, “The platform is gaining more and more exposure daily, with Scottish celebrities and presenters like Jim Gellatly, Ally McCrae, and Janice Forsyth posting about it on Twitter! The extra exposure we’ve been getting has seen the views on the Un-Wired Scotland page boost by 2000 over four days. We're also working with HMV through the project to promote unsigned Scotish musicians!”

Crowdfunding is a new way of funding for start-up companies, without taking out a bank loan or trying to secure a grant. Using Bloom VC (Venture Catalyst), a brand new Scottish crowdfunding platform, anybody can create a pitch anywhere in the world and can receive support from anywhere in the world. Donations are made in return for a reward. For example, if a person funds Un-Wired Scotland £5, they will receive a physical copy of the Un-Wired Scotland 2012 compilation album.

Search for Bloom VC on an internet browser, then click on Un-Wired Scotland for more information.
