sorry -- let me widen the time span...

there are so many amazing contributors to Scottish alternative/rock and I picked just two from the 1980s...definitely have Alex in there

To add some females --

I also love elizabeth frazer from "Cocteau Twins"; her voice is so hauntingly beautiful (though understandably not everyone's cup of tea!)

Then there's Shirley Manson and Annie Lennox...
