I bought it in a proper posh hat-shop (a miliners ?) in St Andrews Square, among the middle-class trilbies, straw boaters and cricket sun-hats. Really odd to find a ska hat in there ! but they must have been feeling the pulse of the moment ! It was pretty expensive I recall. Not like the crappy-made hats you find in fashion shops these days. Strangely, the shop had no other pop/rock or popular genres represented. I used to wear it to go out in Edinburgh in the evenings (sometimes with wraparound shades !). Some clubs wouldn't let me wear my hat indoors ! Philistines ! I wore it when we went clubbing in London. I wore it all the way from Scotland to France. Unfortunately, it didn't survive the trip home in the suitcase on the way back ! When I took it out the case it looked like it belonged to Wurzel Gummidge !
