Dick's concert at the Oran Mor on Friday night, was superb. A celebration of forty years of performing on stage, he had a full supporting cast, including the harmonious/glamourous Bevvy Sisters.
Being of Irish, Highland & Traveller antecedents, Dick's early years in sunny Leith were punctuated by being variously called, a Fenian Bastart, a Teuchter Bastart and a Gadgie Bastart, all contributed to polishing the rough diamond that he was, into the gem that he is.
A lifelong campaigner against poverty, injustice & prejudice he has always been a passionate and eloquent advocate for English independence.
