Not just Scotland

We do see loads of these reality stars come and go...can anyone tell me what ever
happened to Michelle McManus, the last singing sensation without doing a search
like I did ??

I am probably right in saying we wish her well and all the others that have appeared
in the show !!

Her nationality is completely irrelevent, judging by the one song we heard her sing (please keep that in mind when you say there's no hysteria surrounding her) she does have a good voice, and I sincerely hope she does well for her own sake, but she doesn't deserve any more of a chance than anyone else. I've never understood the argument that we should support someone because they're Scottish :S

My other point about her getting publicity because she's not mainstream good looking still stands. The only reason there's this much fuss around her is because the majority of people associate good looks with talent due to the likes of Britney Spears and Beyonce being forced down our throats every day of the week on TV and radio. Along comes someone less gifted in the looks department and everyone thinks "what is this strange phenomenon...she's ugly and can sing?!??!". That's what everyone is doing.

If you genuinely like her then great, I hope you keep up with her after all the fuss has died down (including the future when Britain's Got Talent isn't on) but I'll never be ashamed of myself for using common sense.

Someone made a point about Michelle McManus which I agree with, but let's be even more recent, anyone remember Leon Jackson?

I know I sound like an argumentative git but I don't mean to pick, I'm just saying it how I think it really is

One's nationality is never completely irrelevent regardless of what the person is doing or is. Most people are proud when 'one of their own' achieves something grand - it's simply normal in my opinion.

I don't think there's any doubt that she will get more of a chance than anyone else, but it's certainly not her fault that people want to watch and hear her sing on YouTube over and over. That's quite an achievement.

What have you got that's more interesting to write about? ... I'll check some of the other threads.
