Hey T, when I was in HS I had a friend that would only drive a Bug. I don't think he had a baja one, but I remember driving along the railroad tracks in it. He made it baja whether it was supposed to or not.

Hi Di, glad you made it. I liked the plug for your friend. Nice touch.

Hey Ladies, I made it over. Good to see everyone. I have been pretty busy the past few days here in SD. Not really doing a whole lot, but staying busy visiting and throwing in some site seeing.

Willy, I went to the SD harbor today to watch the Star of India sail into the harbor and dock. There was a pipe and drum band playing which I enjoyed as much as seeing the boat sail in. The weather has been great. The sun is hot enough to burn you but the wind is so cool you almost need a long sleeve shirt. But then again, I am really becoming a cold weather wimp. When I first moved to New Orleans from Kansas and Ohio, I used to laugh to myself at the kids at the bus stop for school wearing their big coats and freezing while I was in a sweater and feeling fine. Now I am the one freezing in the coolest of weather.

My 4 year old got her first hair cut the other day! Her hair was down to her waist. It was so pretty all golden brown and curly, but it is just too hard to comb. Especially with her swimming so much here in my parent's pool. She screamed and threw a fit when the lady tried to wash her hair but was fine for the actual cutting. She is in l-o-v-e with a boy named Trevor at her daycare. She is afraid he won't like her hair cut and is hoping he won't notice. I told her not to worry, boys never notice stuff like that anyway!

My 16 year old put on her bathing suit from last year and it was so funny because it isn't LONG enough for her anymore. Before her back surgery her body was so 'scrunched' up that she is now nearly 3 inches taller than before her surgery. A lot of her stuff won't fit her anymore for the same reason. If she grows any taller we will have a hard time finding average size clothes that fit her well. Do you all think she will get any taller? She is nearly 5'11" now. I don't think I grew any taller after the age of 15. The funny thing is, she wants to be 6 feet tall! She has been as tall or taller than me since she was 12.

Robin,
That is so cool that Mandy is comfortable with her height. I always felt so tall and gawky compared to my cute, petite friends when I was in High School. I believe Geena Davis is 6' tall and most runway models. It can be kind of funny dating shorter men but overall, (if you can ever find a place that sells pants long enough!), it's not that bad...
I am so glad you were able to see The Star of India sail!!!! (Our boys have seen it sail in the past but we didn't quite make it down to SD this time). Do you realize the Star of India was constructed on The Isle Of Man, (between England & Ireland), in the 1800's. I don't know if you had a chance to tour the ship before, but it was an "Immigrant" ship with short wooden cots for it's passengers which would usually be shared.

I love the San Diego Maritime Museum and support it whole heartedly, (right now there is a controversy going on if we should have an air craft carrier on the harbour as part of the museum... (because it may ruin some peoples view...! )

(The weather has been great though lately, hasn't it )

Hello Robin, sounds like your having a lot of fun, does B like her new hair cut? Did you feel sad watching it fall to the floor? My daughter has only had her hair cut short one in her life, now she only gets it trimed to remove the dead ends. Did you say cold chilly weather? I could use some right about now.....

T, thats is the only kind of bug that I like nice pic....

Willy that is interesting info you gave about The Star of India, I would love to see it also.

Hello all,

I never have toured the Star of India, Willy. But it is quite a lovely site. What is this big ugly torn up looking old naval ship that they have anchored next to the Maritime Museum? People were touring it and it had all kinds of banners around it. It looks like it had been gutted. It has cut out shapes of fish on it and it has been painted like an underwater scene on the inside (it looks like it was painted by children). The weather has been lovely, but I have been bugging my dad to get the temp up in the pool another 2 degrees! He thinks I am crazy, that 84 degrees ought to be warm enough. It is warm enough I suppose, but that breeze can really cool you off quick. I heard at home it has been 110 degrees with the heat index! As far as my daughter's height goes, she is very comfortable with it. We are able to find pants (or should I say trousers!) and jeans in tall sizes, but she has long arms too, so long sleeve shirts often don't fit well. It is a good thing we don't live in an area with long sleeve weather I guess!

Pudding, the little one likes her hair cut. She has fun combing it. And I was not about to let those curls fall to the ground and be swept away. When it is wet I can twirl it around in a twist, and when it dries, it is in this perfect beautiful ringlet. So I did that before we went to get it cut and I put a band around the place I wanted it cut. So now I have this long curl of hers to keep forever. Her hair is just wavy now, not curly. But that is okay because the older one has enough curl for everyone. She has ringlets all over the place about the same diameter, or smaller, than a pencil. We have to put a straightener in it just so it can be managed, and it is still really curly.

T, have you finished up your driver's classes yet?
