A good question. I am first and foremost a Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page fan and not really a Yardbirds fan, although obviously the two become intertwined. I also have a passing interest in the career of Jeff Beck.
I know that Page 'borrowed' some of the latter Yardbirds material (inc I'm Confused, White Summer and Train Kept A Rollin') for the early Zep days, so it's always been of interest to me. He also often went back to some of the Yardbirds tracks (For Your Love, Over Under Sideways Down, I Wish You Would) in some Zeppelin shows and often quoted entire instrumental passages in live versions of Zeppelin tracks.
After reading a recent interview with the two when they mentioned briefly playing together in this lineup, my interest peaked again and so I got to looking for some aural evidence of the tour, without any luck so far. Unbelievably and unfortunately, it would appear that there are no tapes around from this period of Jimmy Page's live history.
As I have collected hundreds of live Zeppelin & Page shows (of varying quality!) over the years, it would be great to be able to hear some evidence of where it (Zeppelin) all started for Page.
Thanks for your continued interest btw.
