Lightbulb Young Scottish Band Looking for Help & New Fans!

Hi everyone, just recently joined the Scotland forums. My name's Chris, I'm 21 and I'm from Airdrie. I'm looking to give my band Dark Fusion some exposure & hopefully some help from our fellow Scots.

We play heavy metal music (obv not to everyone's tastes) and since February this year have been building up a good wee fanbase in Glasgow and surrounding areas.

In May this year we joined an online unsigned band competition called the Rock Star Lottery. It started out with over 600 bands worldwide and is now down to a Top 50. The winner of the comp gets a £1.5 million recording contract. It's decided by public votes and we're looking for anyone who likes our music enough to spend a quid or two to vote for us, we want our nation of Scotland to be the first to win this kind of competition.

Check us out on www.myspace.com/darkfusionband which gives you a little biography, some pictures of the band and some of our recorded demos. If you like us please vote by going to this link here:

Rock Star Lottery

You can vote by Paypal on the site, or via mobile phone by texting 'RSL 430' to 60999. That only costs £1 per time you do it and it's not a subscription thingy either.

Hope you enjoy our stuff, please keep in touch.
Chris

Kinda similar but the bands in the Rock Star Lottery are very varied, a few of the artists are singer/songwriters with some good solid solo tunes, some indie bands, a few punk/pop-punk/ska styled stuff there, some heavy metal like us & even some electronica. Rock can span into many different categories.

And of course these bands are promised an unrestrictive record deal opposed to the 15 minutes of fame that X Factor finalists get. Think of all the ones from previous years, there's less than a handful of them still finding success!

Rock Star Lottery's aim is to try to change that. The 'About Us' on their site makes for interesting reading.
