Anyone else like Heavy Metal here? The old bands and the news bands are great and I'am looking for people in Scotland that like them too.

I'm not from Scotland, but I'll tell you that most of the metal bands of today "taste just like chicken" if you know what I mean. There are a few that are not, and I mean a few, a very few.

I got into music starting in the early 70's.
AC/DC, Foreigner (1st album only),Scorpions,
Rush,Led Zep etc....

I´m not from Scotland but I like Heavy Metal - especially (old) Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Iced Earth, Savatage, Rage, Rammstein and also Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix...

Hopefully I'll be visiting Scotland again in the
last week of Jan 02.
I will be searching out the Metal clubs and bands.
If anyone has some good info for me it would realy
help since I'll only be in Edinburgh for a weekend,
and then I'll go up to the Highlands to look for some
snow and beer and scotch, etc....

Hello Steve,

I´m going to visit Edinburgh next month and I´ve already been there once before but didn´t find any Hardrock/Metal clubs yet. A friend of mine however told me that there actually is one and if I can find it I will let you know.
When I visited Edinburgh for the first time I went to the Hardrock Cafe and was absolutely disappointed as they played any kind of music there but no Hardrock at all.
Nevertheless I´m sure that you will have a good time in Scotland because there are lots of really good pubs and nice people that like drinking and having fun very much.

The place I mentioned when I sent you an E-mail
called the Backroom, well thats actually the name
of a place in Austin Texas, I've been to a few times.
The name of the one in Edinburgh is The Attic, but
from additional info I've found its changed,but if
you ask some locals in Edinburgh, I'm sure they can
tell you what its called now and how to get there.
I know its down on Cowgate St. not to far from
Bannermans.
I was headed over to Nurnberg on the 14th, this Friday
but since I work for the Airlines and travel stand-by
and things are pretty screwed-up over here now,I guess
I'll just make the most out of my vacation here in
San Antonio, Tx.
I don't remember when you planned to be in Edinburgh,
but if your over there already or once you get there
you could continue to add to this thread and let us know
how things are going for you.
