The bands name is Oleander, the song is called "Why I'm Here," the CD is called, February Son. Amazon sells the single for $10.99 and the entire CD is $12.99.

I'm so happy.

Hi Di, I just hope the rest of the CD is good. It got pretty good reviews. If not, I'll just run that track over and over. See ya.

Celto,

Well, I hate to show my ignorance here, I'm not sure if they're considered "punk" or "grunge." I only hear this song when in my car on our local heavy rock station. My youngest plays the violin and I really like the violin in this song. I don't know what the rest of their songs sound like, I just like this one.
Since you mentioned you like "alternative and celtic," I can't say enough about "Afro Celt Sound System, Volumn II." When I went to our local Highland games here in Atlanta, they were playing this CD at a music vendor. I call it "techno celt." The group has an Africian Celtic influence. The lead singer has a very smooth voice and sings in Gaelic. It's one of a few CD's that I just put on and let it play entirely through.
I bought Volumn I, but I skip a few of those songs. I highly recommend them, especially if you like drums and the uillean pipe.

Bought Oleander's CD yesterday. I was informed by my youngest that it is "not" a violin, but a viola. Sorry.

I play the violin and there are five-string violins-not many- that have the c-string fom the viola, but I know several people besides myself who occasionally tune my violin down a string. There's that posssibility.
