Hi!
I am a student of Scottish Gaelic, and a lover of Celtic music. As a result, I love listening to Gaelic music! Can anyone recommend some good singers for me to try? I love Capercaillie, Runrig, Mary Jane Lamond and the Rankins. I am also aware of Catherine Ann MacPhee, Julie Fowlis, Christine Primrose, Mairi MacInnes, and Cliar. I am mostly interested in music with a more modern sound but will listen to anything! Any help you can offer in this matter would be greatly appreciated! Sincerely, Allen R. Alderman Wytheville, Virginia, USA

Here are a few that you may not have heard: the Barra MacNeils www.barramacneils.com The Cottars www.thecottars.com Rita and Mary Rankin (also from Mabou, Cape Breton, but not of the Rankin's musical group - those girls were Cookie, Raylene, and Heather). http://irena.blackmill.net/ritamary/ Slainte SJ

SB - I was just reading and came upon this one ... thanks for the recommendations. I have checked out the sites you listed and think I have found some new groups to listen to. Anyone else you'd like to recommend would be great.
