Wow. There's a thing I didn't know. I dimly remember the terrible Andy Stewart and of course I know the Johnnie cope song but I had never made any association between them Very slow brain, obviously.

I already replied to Celyn's post once - and it has disappeared into the cyber mist. I was defending Andy Stewart - whose work I have greatly enjoyed when he was with Silly Wizard, and some of his arrangements of traditional songs. I guess it depends on your tastes - I have always enjoyed folk music.

I too never made the connection with Johnnie Cope - although I am very familiar with both songs.

A very different Andy Stewart, I think, Sherbrooke J.

Don't worry, I wasn't getting at the Silly Wizard man.

I understand. I do know the other Andy Stewart also. I was thinking it was the Silly Wizard man that sang it as well. I was sure I had it on a Silly Wizard CD - but, nope - there's "Roaring Donald" and "Donald MacGillivray" but no trouserless Donald.
I see the Silly Andy goes by Andy M. Stewart.

This board is very educational
