I cannot see any sense in the "he is an embarrassment for most scots" statement, try though I might. An sensible and logical explanation would be welcome, although I doubt that any such thing will be forthcoming. But were one to be forthcoming, it would be better placed NOT in this "Music and Art" forum.

did i not read somewhere that paisley was born in edinburgh hence the scottish embarrassment tag?

also, what has this all to do with rock n' roll

ban all religion (not easy by any stretch)
all become of one religion (even less of a prospect)
just f***ing grow up, get some historical perspective and move on. i grew up in the glasgow of the 50's and 60's where job application forms served as religious screening. want a top job in the police? no catholics. top job in local government. no proddies.
glasgow was politically segregated and by default religiously segregated. one of the reasons i am glad my son is growing up in the south. no historical baggage. aye the south. england. get used to it.

"Politically segregated, how so? I think I can guess which political party might be the one meant here, but I do not know until you tell us. Yes, I'm glad you are happy about your son. How nice for you. "Get used to it"? What does that mean?

Nothing at all to do with rock 'n' roll. That was pretty much why most of us did not like this thread in the first place. However, since the wee teenage boys who were arguing there are no longer with us, I wonder why you chose to resurrect a dead from last year.

However, do feel free to start a thread that is actually about music.
