(Answering my own question) - Nope - I looked it up and the shows origins are listed as Canada/France. I had no idea! I did note that a lot of the scenes seemed to be filmed in France - but I was unaware of any Canadian connection.

Wasn't the Highlander fillum a Hollywood production with the Frenchman... (something Lambert) as the hero?

Luckily, I have always managed to avoid the TV series, so cannot comment on its origins - apart from KNOWING that it couldn't possibly be Scots in origin!
