Hi all
Initial feedback suggests that the authorities are not keen on any Major Events in Edinburgh on 2nd July due to the G8 challenges. I have proposed a Netaid.co.uk/Make Poverty History Dance/Music Event at Murrayfield Stadium on 2nd July to my contact at the CT at Make Poverty History as the best use for Tom Hunter's donation as this type of event will generate the type of media attention required to help with getting the word out regarding the MPH March etc. in Edinburgh on the same day. As well as selling out and raising around £1Million. SRU/Murrayfield Stadium have confirmed venue availability and are offering to help by keeping costs to a minimum. Around 12 of the worlds Top 20 DJ's have previously said they'd also be willing to contribute. Scotland has the opportunity to host an Dance/Music Event that can rival previous English and Welsh events like Tsunami Aid, Netaid 1999, Comic Relief, Bandaid etc. So will you guys who are the Scottish Music scene force the Scottish media to get behind this to force the authorities to allow this event, or will Scotland loose the opportunity to shine across the world as per usual. Please also let me know if you have any Music Industry or Media contacts that can help make this happen. I'm particularly interested in hearing from other major Dance/Music Acts/Bands willing to contribute. Regards Charlie Chairman/Founder htttp://www.netaid.co.uk |
