~I'd forgotten all about BC - weren't they popular in the 80s?

I personally think Runrig are one of the greatest Scottish bands of all time.

One of my favourite groups, Silly Wizard, didn't even make the list!
I also like Runrig - their singer, Bruce Guthro is a Cape Bretoner, and I was a fan of his before he joined the group.

hi Polwarth, yes BC were popular in the general sense in the 80's - to BC fans they always have been and always will be - but if you can get to listen to a copy of The Crossing, their first album, you should be impressed! Its the kind of music that I always play loud when I am travelling around Scotland and makes me wish I was Scottish not English!

Nice that you're such a fan, but no thanks... Wasn't my kind of music when they WERE popular.... my daughter was a fan of theirs when she was very, very young... we had a couple of their CDs which never seemed to be silent. Don't want to go back there now.... especially as I've been able to banish the experience to the back of my mind!!!

Well I'm sure that all those Belle and Sebastian fans will be jumping with joy to find that their heroes have been voted best Scottish group.

Actually, hang on a minute, they'll probably be far too busy gazing at their shoes to notice. How dreary!
