Of course not, but it's the safest politically.

Both the BBC in Scotland and STV seem to set all their dramas, comedies etc almost always in the same city. It's like the rest exist.

Some of "Chewin the Fat" was good, but "Still Game" is full of old jokes you've heard elsewhere, cliched characters etc, and two guys who don't even look old in their make-up.

I think it's "loved" because it's Scottish comedy, which is a rare enough thing on tv. I think if there was more of it being produced they might look staid... a bit like the equivalent of "Bless this house" being shown on modern English tv.

I think Chewing the Fat and Still Game are both very funny..in parts of course... not even billy chuckles me in everything he says.. but it must be as good as its been from scotland..and credit should be were its due...

maybe its not .. but it makes me chuckle anyway

Ho ho you’ve got my number buddy! Yeah I despise the Uncle Tom that was Rab C Nesbitt.

Whats wrong with the black and white minstrell shows? According to the makers of Chewin the Fat Glaswegians are funny when merely talking.

often CTF reminds me of words I have not used since childhood..lol.. maybe you should try not to be so embarresed of your lower and slightly middle ignorant population...

Well its not the "lower and slightly middle ignorant" who make CTF, its not the people portrayed I object to, its the bunch of Harry Lauders behind it all.

we are afterall doing the best we can

Are we Myers, are we?

Talking

Not everybody likes the same things, but I like the "Gonnae no dae that boys" and the Still Game stuff partly because you can see what's coming a mile off, that's partly the point, isn't it? It worked on the Fast Show too and Ab Fab and loads of other shows, not all of them funny. Same as some sketches on Monty Python were less funny and The League of Gentlemen push it a bit too far on occasion. What d'you reckon to the Rev I M Jolly?
