Yesterday in Edinburgh there was the MTV Europe Music Awards 2003, presented by Christina Aguilera.
There were a lot of important musicians and really cool exibitions.
Did you seen it?
And what do you think about it?

Saw it on TV yesterday - thought it was a bit cliquey. Everyone being self congratulatory etc - plus I don't have MTV so didn't know a few of the folk who won awards!! Still, a great coup for Edinburgh - and it did look like they put on a good party!

What were the exhibitions? Where were they? Did you go to the show yourself?

I've got a friend who lives near where the awards were being held.

According to him, after being subjected (he said tortured) by the rehearsals.... 'most of them cuidnae kerry a tune in a bucket'. He also said he was going to telephone the police about the noise if they didn't wrap it up by 11.30 pm!

J Lopez did not endear herself to the staff of the hotel she stayed in. According to a report in one of the newspapers - she passed instructions via her management that staff should not make eye contact with her, nor engage her in conversation, unless Ms L initiated it! Talk about delusions of grandeur!

Hehehehe! Re. your first post there, Monco, good grief, man, don't mince your words, tell us how you really feel.

I cannot comment, 'cos I did not see anything of the thing at all, apart from its being mentioned in "newspapers" etc, although I suspect that, had I seen/heard it, my views might mirror those of Monco. From unavoidable mentions in "newspapers" etc, I gathered that the Christine Aguilera person, with whose artistic oeuvre I am not familiar, prefers not to wear much in the way of clothing, and then, for some inexplicable reason, catches a bad cold, and has to cancel a couple of upcoming concerts somewhere else. Ah, the poor dear - well, really, getting cold in November, who would have thunk it?

Yes, OK, I admit, it, officer - Celyn is officially a cranky old fogey. And happy that way.

(wishing we had the musical note icon on the Vb software

"sing, if you're glad to be grey
sing if you're happy that way........"

Oops, I had forgotten what I meant to ask about. Monco, I notice that you refer to Aly Bain in the past tense. ??? Eek, I thought he was still going strong? I'd be sorry to hear that he is now of the worm-food persuasion*, but then it would not be the first time for Celyn to be behind with the news.

I do hope he is still alive and well though?

*yes, Celyn never did pass any exams in "Tactful Use of Language, And The Benefits Thereof".
