Thumbs up

Ooo I love PJ Harvey!!!!!!!!!!! "Dry" is one of the CDs I reach for over and over again. I also really like "Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea"...but all of her stuff is brilliant. She sings with so much truth, emotion, and raw energy. It's hard not to like her in my opinion!

She kind of makes me think of a modern Patty Smith. Do you know who i mean?

I'm surprised this thread has not gotten more responses. I would have thought more people had heard of her or would try the link and comment on what they hear.

I've only heard a couple of her songs on compilation CDs. She's got a edginess to her songs that I especially like. I'm off to look at her website and see if I can download me some tunes.

By the way, http://www.epitonic.com is THE place to go if you want to get free tracks for almost any musician. Many of you may already know about it, but I just love it (especially as my work block mp3 downloads - I can get around it by downloading WMAs!)

Well when I say ANY band, I mean any band that's agreed to let their material be available for download on the site.

Currently spinning in my virtual stereo - Grandaddy, Film School, Mercury Rev and Quasi. Scots flavour added courtesy of Nectarine Number 9!
