Talking SCOTTISH MUSIC!!!

i just 'discovered' scottish music meself. this site i found is like, the motherload. go to "artists" and it tells you all the artists they have, which is basically everybody, and then you can read what they play. click on them, thier albums, and then at the bottom it will have a track listing, usually with at least two sound clips.

you could spend hours on this site. im into the dance music myself, but love the bagpipes too. i highly recommend martyn bennett and the peatbog fairies if you like some scottish music you can really blow out the speakers with!!!!

Does anybody know the band Brobdingnagian Bards? They do scottish folk music too. Pretty good, with a touch of centuries past. Here's the link http://thebards.net/

Talking

glad you like it talisien!! it doesnt have the modern stuff like travis, its mostly trad, but its great stuff you wouldnt noramally hear outside of scotland.

other than the peat bog faeries and martyn bennett, im dying to get the ministry of sound annual, so i can relive all my bbc radio1 listening enjoyment. but thats more UK than scottish.

i havent heard of that band, but ill check out the link!

I really have a hard time finding scottish music here in Germany so I'm kinda dependent on what the internet has to offer! If you have any more links please post them! I found another great sight where you can download scottish mp3s but for some reason I can't burn them on CD. Something about unknown format...but at least I can play them on my pc!

I enjoy Idlewild. Although I never really paid too much attention as to what part of Scotland they hail from. Attached is their official site:
