Thumbs up

Anyone out there remember this series on BBC2? Even better, anyone still have a copy that they taped when it was on, years and years ago? (Makes you feel old, doesn't it?!) I'm looking for a copy of it on video, and the BBC have never released it to buy. If anyone can help, I'd be really grateful.

Thanks a lot,

Mac.

Second attempt to reply - grrrr I think my ISP really hates me.

So, hello, mac-mac-mac, and welcome to Scotland.com.

Yes, I do remember it, with much fondness. It was great. Was is John McGrath who wrote it, or John Byrne? Can’t remember.

Sadly, though I can’t help you out re. a video tape. Silly BBC - they show enough trash - why don’t they at least repeat the good stuff?

<Celyn sulks>

Well, I'm really sorry I can’t help, but you never know, maybe some clever member here did record it.

Best of luck in your quest.

well, mac-mac-mac, the problem appears to be that there were some legal difficulties with releasing the series on video due to the music in the 6 episodes. And it is now so long since the series was screened that there are no plans to release it on video.

Best of luck

Elmy

Unhappy

Thanks to Celyn and Elmy for your replies - sorry it's taken so long to acknowledge them! Still no joy with finding a copy of the series, though ... Surely SOMEONE out there must have recorded it, and not taped over it with Coronation Street since (which I have a sneaking suspicion is what my Mother did with her copy!)

I'll just keep hoping!

Cheers,
Mac

tutti frutti

Hi,
I've also been looking for the Tutti Frutti series for my parents who were big fans - they videoed the entire series but then accidentally taped over the last episode...... I had also heard there is some dispute over copyright but have written to the bbc to ask whether there has been any progress over this. Maybe we could start a campaign to get it back on air?? Meanwhile, if anyone has the last episode and is missing any of the other episodes and is willing to get this copied, then get in touch!

Thanks, Kirsty Park

Smile TUTTI FRUTTI

I remember this series with affection. Unfortunately I only have two episodes on tape. I have the last one and one of the earlier ones.
This was Scottish humour at its best. I love the interaction between the cast. "They don't do afternoon tea" and "I'll give you the recipe" being my favourites. I would love to see the other episodes.

Question Video copies - yes please

Dear Kpark

I saw your post above with the very kind offer of Tutti Frutti video copies. I would pay your costs and then some for copies - a lot more.

Getting hold of these videos has become a quest! Please get in touch.

Tutti-mad
