I've been looking for Tutti Frutti for years as well... im kicking myself, cos i've never seen it... (in 1987, i only had a 9-inch portable black & white telly, and going down the pub was a higher priority for me than staying in and squinting at the box... eejit!!).
My ex-father in law was in the programme, apparently... he's a professional musician, and played the accordion in the series. ![]()

Tutti Frutti - Robbie Coltrane TV series
I've come rather late to this discussion, but I have as fond memories of this series as other members. If anyone has the complete series on VHS or DVD and can copy it, could they PLEASE contact me at evewebber@yahoo.co.uk.
I would be most grateful. |

I should add that John Byrne has turned it into a stage show, which is now touring. I saw the second performance in aberdeen & whilst it was still very much a work in progress, with the finishing touches/timing being discussed & changed throughout - Byrne & Tilda Swinton were outside with the smokers discussing the changes intently!
The show itself is pretty good, with excellent music.Tom Morton was also on about the series on his BBC radio show & apparently, virtually all the barriers are overcome, so to reshowing the original series soon is apparently highly likely. ![]() Touring info: Show Tutti Frutti Full Story |
