Would this be the show where he does the orange man/obessive loyalist. For example the one where his daughter gives him a birthday card with snoopy the dog on it and he copares it to the pope or where he goes tin pin bowling outside and knocks down the miniture statues of the virgin mary.

Smile Love Hurts info request

Hello,

Marvellous forum. Great thread.

Whilst searching for a recording of "Love Hurts" performed by Robbie Coltrane on Tutti Frutti, I came across this forum.

Apologies for bringing an old thread back to the top, but I was wondering if any of you lovely and knowledgeable people would know where I could obtain a recording of Love Hurts by Robbie Coltrane.

If indeed it was ever released on any other compilation, I would be most happy to get it, my dad found it to be the best recording ever of the track ( good 'ol Robbie )

If anyone has any info that would be of help, I would be most thankful.

Smile Love Hurts

The BBC produced a record to accompany the series. The cover was made to suggest this was the actual anniversary LP.
The number on the record sleave is Ren629 and the cassette was ZCN629. Produced by BBC Enterprises (in london!) in 1987.
The record was called Tutti Frutti and was by The Majestics.

Side One - Almost Grown; Rockin' Through The Rye; No Particular Place To Go; Promised Land; Rip It Up; Bye Bye Love.
Side Two - Great Balls Of Fire / Tutti Frutti; Love Is Strange; That'll Be The Day; You're Sixteen (You're Beautiful And You're Mine); Love Hurts; Almost Grown / Tutti Frutti.

The cover describes this songs as follows -

Love Hurts - "Vincent again takes the lead on this 'cri de coeur'; a gut-wrenching performance from Scotland's 'Iron Man of Rock and Roll'. A cleaned up version of a recording made at the Oil Slick in Aberdeen in 1986. Danny McGlones somewhat lighter vocals on this track are the perfect foil for the leading guitart's (genuinely pain-wracked solo-line)."

Vincent Diver (guitar / lead vocal)
Danny McGlone (electric piano / second vocal)
Fud O'Donnell (bass)
Bomba MacAteer (drums)

I picked up a copy of the LP on e-bay for 99p last year. I'm sure you'll find a copy at record fairs, a good second hand record shop, or keep a look out on e-bay.

Good luck.
